MTSU Free Tutoring
Free tutoring is available to help you understand course material, strengthen your study strategies, and build confidence in your academic work.
MTSU’s trained peer tutors provide support for more than 200 courses across a variety of subjects. Tutoring can help you:

- Support GPA improvement
- Increase persistence and retention
- Build confidence as an independent learner
Whether you’re preparing for an exam, working through a difficult concept, or looking for additional practice, tutoring is a resource you can use throughout the semester—not just when you’re struggling.
Campus Tutoring is drop-in—no appointment needed!
Find your course, choose a tutoring time that fits your schedule, and come by during that time.
No appointment or registration is required.
How to find tutoring:
1. Select your department
Use the drop-down menu below to select the department offering your course. Or review all course options by clicking “Find Tutoring Opportunities” without selecting a department.
2. Review the schedule
Click Find Tutoring Opportunities to see available courses, tutoring times, and locations.
3. Come during an available time
Go to the listed location during any of the available tutoring times.
4. Check in when you arrive
Use the Get QR Code button to access the QR code and record your attendance.
The QR code does not reserve a tutoring appointment.
It is used to check in after you arrive for tutoring.
Online Tutoring
Many departments offer remote tutoring during the fall and spring semesters. Check the tutoring schedule for remote tutoring options and Zoom information. For remote tutoring, you must be signed in to Zoom using your MTSU account through SSO.
Tutor.com
Students enrolled in at least one online course also have access to free online tutoring through Tutor.com. Access Tutor.com through your course modules in Canvas. If you do not see the Tutor.com link, contact Tonya.Dowd@mtsu.edu for assistance.
